Commerce Trust Main Entrance Repair and Plate Girder Repair

Constructed in 1907, the Commerce Trust Building is a 15-story steel framed masonry clad transitional age building. Bancroft designed the repair to the main entrance of the Commerce Trust building utilizing conventional stone and structural steel repair methods combined with impressed, current cathodic protection. This provided long term protection of structural steel framing members that had corroded due to moisture intrusion. The use of this unique system will allow for a protection system completely hidden from view.

In a second project, Bancroft designed structural repairs to severely corroded steel plate girders supporting the elevator penthouse and designed repairs to brick masonry cladding.
